Our mission in implementing a NSBE Jr chapter is to stimulate and develop interest in engineering among secondary school students; to strive to increase the number of secondary school students who choose to major in technical fields at the undergraduate and graduate school levels; and to strive to further, within its locality, the purpose and programs of the National Society of Black Engineers.

Our NSBE Jr. Chapter Northern Excellence was established by Pamela Scott Washington as we promote the initiative to raise more engineers among minority students.

The Chapter aims to create partnerships with STEM professionals to help support our curriculum and STEM projects for the NSBE Jr chapter.

The program is a combination of guest speakers and facilitators with STEM background and STEM projects. Any child from 3rd grade through 12th grade can participate in our program.
